PITOC Overview

Ascot Barclay’s Change Management methodology PITOC™ focuses on managing the human factors and key business processes necessary for strategic business and IT change and transformation.

Based on over 20 years of extensive research and practical experience as practitioners delivering national and international business and IT linked change and transformation, the Ascot Barclay team; identify, coach, certify and mentor change agents, managers and transformational leaders using their unique & proven methodology – PITOC™

To bring about lasting and impactful change it is necessary to obtain critical momentum across the enterprise, and this means moving the day to day business as usual (BAU or current state) in the direction of the desired future strategy (future state), and skillfully and objectively towards the ‘tipping point’, the point where momentum for change and new ways of working fast become embedded in the fabric of the organisation.

Respected author Jim Collins in his research for his best selling book ‘Good to Great’ found that every ‘good-to-great’ company had Level 5 Leadership during the pivotal transition years, level 5 refers to a five-level hierarchy of executive capabilities with Level 5 at the top. Collins research identified that Level 5 Leaders establish a culture for even greater PITOCsuccess in the next generation, where as egocentric level 4 leaders often set up their successors for failure. Ascot Barclay provides Level 5 leadership to lead and support strategic change implementations. Ascots Barclay's approach is to identify Ambassadors for Change within your own organisation, these are individuals already at level Five or have the capability to develop to that level. Ascot Barclay works with these selected individuals as the change catalysts, they will continue to own the transition from current to future state and new ways of working long after the departure of the Ascot Barclay team.

'The Ambassador for Transformational Change Leadership Programme is a core element within the Ascot Barclay PITOC™ approach which often starts with the individual and radiates out. To quote Collins it’s not just about assembling the right team – that’s nothing new. The main point is first to get the right people on the bus (and the wrong people off the bus) before you figure out where to drive it. The second point key point is the degree of sheer rigor needed in people decisions in order to take a company from good to great.

The first element of PITOC™ involves a discovery and scoping phase where the senior team from Ascot Barclay agree the strategy, approach, outcomes and objectives for the programme with sponsors and leaders from their client organsiation. From there they seek to identify and get the right leaders and project teams in place – Ascot Barclay take the approach that people with the right mindset, persona and leadership competencies within the client organisation must take responsibility as the Ambassadors and catalysts for the delivery of successful long term lasting change – Ascot Barclay provide the foundation, framework, guidance and tools to ensure success.
